Getting Here

Situated 1.5 hours drive north east of Bordeaux, 25mins from Limoges, 45 mins from Perigueux and 1 hr 45 mins from Sarlat, Vayres is easily accessible by a variety of transport modes. See maps

 

Driving & Ferries

• Vayres is situated on the D675 5kms south of Rochechouart, which is accessible from the A20. The Michelin maps are very good of this area.
• Both P&O and Brittany ferries operate regular crossings from Portsmouth/Plymouth to Caen and Cherbourg.
• LD lines offer cheap sailings from Dover to France from £19 one way

Air

• Ryan air offers incredibly cheap deals from London Stanstead, Liverpool and East Midlands to Limoges airport with new routes opening regularly. (Limoges airport is 25 mins from Vayres). There are also regular flights to Bergerac which is 1.5 - 2 hrs drive from Vayres.
• British airways from Bristol to Bordeaux(1.5 hours south west).
• Flybe from Bristol, Southampton and Birmingham to Bergerac / Bordeaux.
• Air France to Limoges and Bordeaux, check also KLM for good deals to Paris and onward by train (3hrs) to Limoges.

Train

• Eurostar from Waterloo London to Paris and on to Limoges (3 hrs), SNCF from Bordeaux to Limoges
• If arriving by flights into Paris CDG please note that trains for Limoges depart from Paris Austerlitz station. This is some distance from CDG so allow at least 40 mins to get to it or take a taxi.
• Pick up available from Limoges rail station (contact us for details). Taxis available from Limoges to Vayres.

Car Hire

• Excellent rates are available from several of the big companies. AVIS has an office in Rochechouart and at Limoges airport as do Hertz and Europcar.
• All major provider operate from Bordeaux airport but we recommend booking your car before you arrive to get the best deal. Try Holiday Autos which is very competitive.
